About Heidi

When you love what you do, there is no greater success.

From an early age Heidi loved to photograph life. She would often dress up her younger twin sisters and get them to model for her pretending that she was a professional. Fast forward a few years and meet Heidi Overguard of HMO Photography.

After traveling to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, England, Scotland, Wales and portions of the U.S.A, Heidi attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and graduated with honors from the Journalism Arts program with a major in Photojournalism in 2007.

Over the past couple years Heidi has worked a wide variety of clientele. She has been published in Western Horse Review Magazine, Alberta Beef Magazine, and Alberta Country Magazine & Cottage Magazine.

Heidi is from a farm and ranch north of Sundre, Alberta. The rural lifestyle has positively influenced her photography as her love of the land and area is evident in her images.

She is honored to have spent the last six years being a full time professional photo journalistic photographer.

Each of Heidi’s photo shoots are extremely important to her, with the goal of each shoot being to capture the true candid moments shared between people, to tell a story; their story through her lens.

Just like when she was a little girl Heidi is continually inspired to photograph life around her but now she has the technical skill and abilities to truly tell your story with her images.

About Amber

about-amber
“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory” – Dr. Seuss

Amber, Heidi’s younger sister, also has shared the love of photography from a young age. Although instead of taking pictures of people, her real love was to take pictures from around their family farm; of the wildlife and nature. Amber later refined her photography skills with some courses at Cornell University where she also played Div. I College Hockey. Since then Amber has traveled and lived in New York, New Jersey and South Carolina, but finally settling back home in Alberta- pursuing her love of farming and ranching.

Amber describes her style as natural and sincere with a touch of sweet! She loves taking candid photos that capture the true moment, and rustic settings are a favorite to snap portraits in. Her creative eye will bring out the uniqueness you’ve been hoping for in your photographs!
